Coultrain - Streams & Rivers

Soul stylist Coultrain out of St.Louis, Missouri is all set to give you some new magic 
for his upcoming album, Jungle Mumbo Jumbo. Here’s the first single off of that LP,

This year, the spring equinox falls on March 20th. The March equinox happens when the sun crosses the celestial equator – an imaginary line around the sky above Earth’s equator moving south to north. the equinox is a time of fertility and creation. its a time to clarify desires, to set intentions,and also a time to plant seeds for the future. this is a time to celebrate. a time of rebirth and renewal. to celebrate it, the 1st single from Coultrain’s latest offering, Jungle Mumbo Jumbo, will be released. it is entitled “Streams & Rivers”. It was composed by Jason “The Dirty Lynt” Moore, with additional instrumentation by I, Ced and Erik Rico. it is the story of a poetess who is entrapped in the ever elusive arms of her heart’s desire, Seymour Liberty, this is the story on the surface anyway. its also draws many other underlying themes, those of which u must allow ur imagination to decide.

The album’s release date is April 23rd. the number 23 has held a mystique that has lasted for centuries, The number “Two” being division, male and female, day and night and Wisdom in Hebrew esoteric philosophy. The number “Three” being the Holy Trinity, the essence of all things, for time consist of past, present and future, male and female are made of spirit, soul and body, space is defines by height width and depth. The number ” 5 ” being the key to the entire system, is intimately related to the Pyramid, the perfect 5th in music, the five senses in man being taste, smell, touch, sight and hearing. and 2 + 3 = 5, they are one in the same.so from the number of vertebrae in a human spine, to the number of chromosomes each parent contributes to create life, to the number of grandmasters of the knights templars, to the law of fives, the number of the latin alphabet has 23 letters. its significance can go on and on, it is an enigma. the magic of this date is boundless.

The Bullitts - 'They Die By Dawn'

The Bullitts, a new musical sensation out of the UK with previous work with
Jay Electronica, have struck again recently. The Bullitts is the brainchild of 
musician Jeymes Samuel, and not only is he releasing a new album on June
4th called They Die By Dawn, he’s also releasing a short film that inspired it.
With an impressive cast featuring Michael K.Williams, Harry Lennix, Rosario
Dawson and Isaiah Washington among others, They Die By Dawn is a Black
Western that might be as free-ranging and majestic as The Bullitts’ music.

Dert Floyd can’t simply just be referred to as a beatmaker. This man has put out 
quite the collection of beat tapes and remix albums, enough to solidify his stature
as one with a distinct flair for merging and creating sounds that stick to you. The 
Los Angeles native put out one collection, a remix of the guitarist Jose Gonzales’
second album, In Our Nature back in 2006 that still rattles and hums in speakers
everywhere. Dert’s worked with LMNO, KRS-ONE, Pigeon John and is a member of
the Tunnel Rats collective. Do yourself a solid and check out more of this cat’s work.

A Primitive Evolution - The Prize

There are times where, in order to gain a grip on what your purpose is, you have to
dig deep into your own marrow, into your existence. And as evidenced on The Prize,
the latest album from alt-rockers A Primitive Evolution, the digging may just be the
journey and the destination. The trio from Toronto, Canada have proven committed
to this journey for the past five years with critical acclaim, their self-titled debut in
2009 being born with the idea of breaking barriers, in thought as well as in music.
This new album, an inspired collection of re-worked tracks from their debut along 
with new songs is sonically stirring and magnetic. “Coming and Going” is a lush poem
composed with tight vocals and lead guitar work that accentuates but doesn’t dictate
the flow. “I Feel It All” is hard-charging, and pulls you into the rhythm so deep that
you not only don’t notice the tempo change of the song near the end at first, you 
don’t even mind where it takes you. And ‘The Prize’ becomes a fluid centerpiece of 
the album with its taut bass work and chords rising with the crisp songwriting. A.P.E.
has proven with The Prize that creativity is not only a tool for evolution, but the 
defining home for it to lay its head.
