to Ralph Northam taking the role of governor, the
Democrats saw many elected to the state House of
Delegates including Elizabeth Guzman and Haya Ayala
as the first Latinas to hold such an office. Kathy
Tran also became the first Asian-American to be
elected there last evening as well.
