New Ghostface Album

Ghost Deini stays productive, and will have another album out November 20th,
a collaboration with producer Adrian Younge, with RZA as the executive
producer. This album will also come with a comic book as well. You can
get a sense of how wild it will potentially be on the strength of the promo

New Skyfall International Poster & Banners

Sam Mendes and his team are going all out…first, there’s rumors that Adele is doing
the title song for the movie and now this new poster has been released along with

Hologram Dissolve

Being that Tupac Amaru Shakur’s transition was yesterday, we thought it
strangely interesting that Digital Domain, the group founded by noted
director James Cameron whose most recent creation was a hologram of
Tupac at last year’s Coachella festival, just filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy
before being sold to private investors. Maybe it’s a case of the spirits getting
their own back.

Jamaican Dancehall Signs

For the last 12 plus years, Jamaican film and TV producer Maxine Walters — she’s
had her hand in most every major movie shot in JA over the last three decades,
from The Mighty Quinn to Clara’s Heart — has been archiving and collecting one
of Jamaica’s most unique and overlooked visual bounties: the vibrant, hand-painted
signs found in public spaces across the island. Sturdy and technically illegal, these
bold homemade advertisements are nailed to poles and trees everywhere from Half
Way Tree to mountain villages, usually during the middle of the night, to promote
grassroots events ranging from that weekend’s bashment party to the arrival in
town of a pantomime play, or all-star reggae concert.

9th Wonder & Food Network.

9th Wonder, producer extraordinaire, has another realm to explore now
with the recent announcement by the Food Network that he will provide
the music for ‘Home Made in America’, a new program featuring chef
Sunny Anderson. It will be all new music, and will formally debut on
October 6th at 9:30 A.M. on the network.

Chris Lighty, Rest In Power.

The hip hop world lost an iconic figure just before Labor Day. Chris Lighty,
known as ‘Baby Chris’ to many in the industry died on August 30th due
to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He leaves behind a wife and two daughters,
as well as a career of executive excellence, managing artists such as Mariah
Carey, Busta Rhymes and forming his own company, Violator Entertainment.
