2016 has been a REALLY rough year in the
world of music. The great Maurice White, who
was the founder and a band member of Earth,
Wind and Fire passed away last week. He leaves
behind an indelible mark on the music world.
Famed DJ/producer Gilles Peterson created a
special mix in tribute. In his own words:

So here’s my tribute to the mighty mighty one, Mr Maurice White,
who sadly passed away on February 4 of this year. He left us an
incredible treasure trove of music that has shaped the way I live my life!

I avoided the really obvious hits that you can hear everywhere and
went for my personal faves, and a solid dose of the music that went
on to shape the unique sound of Earth, Wind & Fire, from his early
years working with two great mentors to him, Ramsey Lewis and
Charles Stepney.

I got so much pleasure recording this. I hope you enjoy as much as I did!
