Los Angeles: Lovey Fundraising Event

Angelenos, this is happening next Tuesday!!! From the press release:


“We are inviting you to a very special fundraising event for our dear friend Anita “Lovey” Jones.

In the next few weeks Anita will be undergoing two surgeries: one for a mastectomy and the other for ovary removal to take out cancerous cells.

After surgery Anita will be convalescing at a friend’s home in Claremont but will have to be separated from her beloved pets, Suki and Lily. And, although Anita is eligible for disability insurance, she will need financial assistance to see her way through in upcoming months.

In response to this unfortunate situation, we, Anita’s friends, have decided to throw a fundraising event in her honor to raise money to help Anita with living expenses during this time.

Bella Lantsman, Anita’s employer, of Chinois on Main, has generously donated their private dining room for our special Lovey Fundraising Event and the fabulous Jay Calhoun (a good friend of Lovey’s) has offered his design services to dress the room. We’ll have complimentary tray-pass hors d’oeuvres featuring world-renowned Wolfgang Puck recipes, fine wine and spirits all for the price of a $10.00 donation!

We have over 40 silent auction and raffle prizes and they’re still coming in! Here’s a sneak preview of some items we’ll be offering: An insider tour of the Today Show for two to the Today Show courtesy of Ann Curry, a year of free valet service at The Grove, dinner for two at Chinois on Main and professional Surf Lesson from Chase Voga. If you’re curious about our other prizes, check us out on Facebook - we’ll have an event page where we’ll list additional prizes and silent auction gifts.
